Good Deeds in the poker world - Charlie update

An update on the "charlie" situation I mentioned earlier (with Luske calling him). It seems that Barry Greenstein said he would win a WSOP event for Charlie - and did it straight away.

Read the story here.
Poker version here (with a good last paragraph)

What is impressive is that all of Barry's tournament winnings go to charity. Over $4 million thus far.

UPDATE - here is an account of the various poker people and what they did. Reading between the lines, lederer.....removed........UPDATE 2: Felicia has left a comment that Lederer had a lot going on but wanted to do the right thing. I know it's tough for people in these sorts of situations...so this is good to hear!

I heard today from one person that Howard did come through and call Charlie. I do not know this for certain, but will try to find out.

He did seem like he was blowing me off whenever I tried to remind him about it, but, like a lot of poker players (myself included), he had something important going on and was decidedly a bit tunnel visioned at the time.

No matter what, I'm sure that Howard wanted to do the right thing, even if he didn't make that phone call.

Thanks! It's better to just read the lines than "in between" them! :)
