Playing AK

Below are a couple of very good articles that amateur players (like me) should read and digest. The key thought is that AK isn't the "monster" that everyone thinks it is. Remember when watching those TV final tables that the blinds are huge and the table is short-handed, which tends to make AK huge. And AK is really only dominant over hands like AQ and AJ. Consider this; AKs vs 78 (both suited) is only a 3-2 favorite, and almost every pocket pair is at least a slight favorite.

It's ok to fold AK! (but carefully consider what odds you are being given, as always)
